Central owns a house in Dekalb County for the purpose of providing
transitional housing to families who participate in Decatur Cooperative
Ministry's Family House Program. Central leases the house to DCM,
which operates a transitional housing program designed to prepare
formerly homeless families for independent living.
Central purchased and renovated the house in the spring of 2000. Since then, five families have lived in the house and we expect the sixth to move in during June of 2005. Central's involvement with transitional housing began in response to the increasing numbers of women and children seeking assistance from our Outreach Center.
