There are several options for
Volunteer parking:
- The alley located between Central Church and The Shrine is the most
convenient location, but Volunteers may not park there overnight
because doing so will block access to the dumpster.
- Street parking On MLK Drive next to both churches on the side opposite
the Freight Depot/Underground Atlanta.
- The Georgia Plaza Parking Deck is recommended because it has a security
guard. This deck is open Monday through Friday 6:30 am until 9:00
pm, so it is not available for overnight parking Friday through
Sunday.
This deck’s entrance is off Central Avenue just before you reach
the entrance to the small parking area adjacent to The Shrine.
There is no charge for using this underground lot--just tell the attendant
you are with the Central Night Shelter.
- The Underground Atlanta Parking Deck on the corner of MLK Jr. Drive
and Central Avenue, diagonally across from the Shrine. This deck is
is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. There is an hourly
charge for parking in this garage.
If you are delivering food,
it is recommended that you park in the alley while delivering the food
and then park in the Georgia Plaza Parking deck or on MLK.
Regardless of where you park,
you should not leave anything in your car visible from the outside that
might interest someone else--put everything in the trunk, out of sight,
or leave it at home.
